East Antioquia (Oriente Antioqueño) belongs to one of the 9 sub-regions of the Antioquia Department. It is the second most populated sub-region in the department of Antioquia, after the Aburrá Valley, and is second only to the Aburrá Valley in economic importance. Its varied climates, very attractive green landscapes and lakes make it a fantastic tourism destination.
